COAT: The Gap (hand me down) – DRESS: c/o Nano Kids Co – SOCKS: The Gap – BOOTS: Zara (last fall)
She asked to wear socks, not warm winter tights (cause tights just make no sense in cold winter temps). I have learned not to fight certain choices that the kids make, of course I try to “suggest” or nicely say “no hun” (I mean, I the parent) – but when they are really REALLY insistent on wearing something, often I bow out and let them have at it. When it’s weather based, like her legs might be cold if she doesn’t wear tights or they want to wear a sweater in the hot summer sun – I say no a few more times then normal and then sneakily pack tights or a new shirt my bag. Luckily this day was pretty warm, and she was right (I was wrong) she was fine with the socks (and she looked darn cute). Sometimes going with their flow and packing for a “just in case/probably gonna need this” moment later in the day makes them so happy I just gotta let it happen. And if I need to pull from my bag for a new shirt or winter tights, they often look at me like I’m a ninja “how did you know, Mommy!?” – and that’s pretty awesome too.
