Uniform / Cold and Tired
It’s still cold, still winter, and even though it hasn’t been a winter worthy of even a little complaining there still comes a point where you get tired of wearing all that winter gear. And by you I mean me, because I am totally at that point. So this is me, dreaming of spring clothes and thinking of ways to wear them in the winter cold (layer, layer, layer). It’s pretty much the end of February and in all honesty spring really is pretty much already starting to show her face, and if not she’s right around the corner. So here’s a good uniform, for that.

When it comes to clothes, I’m pretty minimal. Pretty much in all understandings of that statement, I buy what I need and only what I love. I pretty much only buy items I will wear ALL THE TIME. BUT, there is always a but (or a butt) isn’t there? There is one type of clothing I could have an 10 extra items of, 10 extra more than I need items of and that would be jeans. I am 100% a jeans girl, handbags shamandbags just give me all the jeans.
I mostly go to the same brands when it comes to jeans, my tried and true brands the ones I know pretty well. It’s not often that I try new brands, I’m a creature of denim habit. Jean Machine contacted me and invited me to go into one of their stores for a fitting/personal shopping/best shopping experience ever appointment, as part of their Perfect Pair Promise. It was amazing, by far the best shopping experience I’ve ever had. The amazing lady/magician who helped me took me around the store and suggested I try different items she thought would work for me and my body. She basically put outfits together for me and I gladly accepted the suggestions, because why not! It’s always fun to step out of your comfort zone and try new things and hey you might as well try suggestions from an expert or maybe she was a magician? She knew my size from looking at me and my style just from our short 5 min small talk. The eye-opening thing about buying denim in this perfect way, is before I was purely focused on the brand and sometimes I would even buy jeans because of the brand (confessions) and maybe the fit wasn’t always bang on. Clearly I was shopping for my favorite clothing item, all wrong.
It’s also been a while since I’ve had a pair of jeans that both fit like a glove (LIKE A GLOVE), were actually made of denim not just stretchy cotton twill (I like my jeans to be actual jeans, thank you) and were crazy comfortable to boot, those things don’t always go together (and they should!).
Are you in need of a new pair of jeans? Head to Jean Machine and use the code: perfectpair to get yourself 20% off a perfect pair of jeans! They carry the full range of sizes, from petite through to plus sizes, perfect promises for every body! Or maybe use the code to get your loved one a nice Christmas present.
OR why not just enter to win a $100 gift card to shop Jean Machine that is right below (it’s really easy) — Merry Christmas to you!
PS. and as to what’s so funny in that picture? I don’t even know, someone probably farted clearly that equals photo magic.

Hey Guys, I’m in Aruba on a sorta last-minute adult only (husband and wife) trip! I’m probably relaxing on the beach, drinking some cocktails and practicing some yoga — least those were my only plans I had before I left. Since our vacation wasn’t planned months in advance, I was scrambling a bit to find all the beachy things I needed. And since in the scheme of season we are far from summer and not quite at resort yet it was a bit of a task. After a few really annoying trips to the stores and malls, I placed my butt on my couch and stuck to online shopping, the sale sections happened to be where all the beach vacation gold was waiting. Have a vacation coming up or maybe just dream of one, this is my easy every vacation day outfit picked and matched all with items I found on sale right now.
And maybe you’re like “Brandy screw you, relaxing on the beach while I’m freezing my butt off!” I promise to drink a few cocktails and hang out on the beach a little longer just for you — aaand then I’ll create a cold weather uniform we can all wear..soon!
4 Starter Outfits for Fall, That Everyone Should Own
Halloween hangover anyone? The first weekday after Halloween is one of those days where the world collectively thinks about going to Goodlife or any gym even if just for a brief second between tiny chocolate bars. Or am I alone in this one?
So what are these, starter outfits? Basically it’s taking the idea of a capsule wardrobe and making it even easier. Instead just build yourself 4 strong every day uniforms, created with items you LOVE, that are versatile. Now add those 4 outfits (that can easily be mix and matched to be 8-12 outfits) to your existing fall closet and there you have an instant closet update. This is an easy way to update your seasonal wardrobe, plus compared to the capsule wardrobe there is much less planning and thinking involved. Make sense?
01| Striped Tee, Cardigan and Slouchy Jeans – The perfect every day comfy attire that looks pulled together. Choose a cardigan (like this one) that you will never want to take off and jeans that fit like a comfy, slouchy glove.

02| Denim Shirt and High Rise Jeans – A classic, so much so that I bet you have these two items in your closet already. Great for every day wear and the perfect items to mix and match with – pretty much two needed basics.

03| Shirt Dress – Looking for something that feels like you are still in your pjs, but doesn’t look like it? Well looky here, the perfect feels-like-pjs-but-isn’t dress. Layer cardigans and sweaters and maybe even denim shirts on top, but maybe not all at once.

04| Sweater and Denim Skirt – A pencil skirt (maybe in blue denim?) is a must any time of the year, but it’s the best when you can make it work for every day wear. Such a great classic, looks pulled together but super comfy outfit.

boots and/or sneakers – Yes, two items of footwear is probably not enough. But maybe just add two new items that go with any and all outfits to your existing shoe closet? The goal is to buy shoes or boots that go with everything all the time, and these two pairs are the perfect ‘match with everything’ shoes.
[heeled black booties and/or high top white sneakers]
As for outerwear? How about a simple vest to layer over layers, a no fail leather jacket, and a classic long line tan coat. Coats that go with every and any fall outfit.
What is your go-to outfit this fall? Do you have a capsule wardrobe?
