10 times outta 10, after yoga I have no time to go home and change into regular clothes. I either jump home and then head out to take the kids to school or straight on to errands. Sometimes (most of the time) there is just no time to go home and get “ready” so hey, might as well make the best of it! Head to your workout wearing something you can workout in (the sports bra and the leggings are workout ready) and can also wear afterwards or partially change into something that is dry/not sweaty. Of course there is no art to the ‘to and from‘ attire but if you are going to and from a lot then it’s a fun idea to think of that outfit as an important one (and maybe one you wear all day—because some days it’s just how it happens). And dry shampoo, because being fresh is always nice. Happy Friday!
Uniform / Brunching
Overalls: The Gap – Tee: JCrew – Bucket Bag: c/o Brave – Boots: Zara (sold out, whomp)
I don’t think I will ever get over looking through hilarious photos Chris took of me. Photos I can laugh at but would never show anyone, well internet anyones. Meaning if you thought these were funny? You should see the other duds! (babum cha!) Also here’s a tip, if you ever want to get called cute 20 times a day as a 33-year-old female, wear overalls, it seems to work every time.
So lately, our perfect (ideal and dreamy) weekend consists of, me going to yoga after a sloooow wake up (cuddle heaven), than meeting the family for brunch, Chris going off to Goodlife for a workout, then when he’s all done we start our weekend “adventuring”. Well now that, birthday season is dwindling down, it’s pretty nice to have weekends back to that perfect, ideal and dreamy state. As I typed that, I got super excited for the coming weekend, for all five of those simple reasons. The kids mostly look forward to brunching well, we all do—but if you ask the kids what they want to do on any given day, one of them will without fail, shout out “Brunch!”. Basically they are perfect, but I already knew that.
And why am I randomly babbling about perfect weekends and brunching? Because all of those (perfect weekend making) things just happen to be what I/we were doing before and after my lovely husband took these photos. So it’s all not really that random at all, it’s just how I decided to tell you that’s the random part. T minus 1 day till the long Easter weekend!
Uniform / Spring Will Come Eventually
no.1 trench coat – no.2 all black NY ball cap – no.3 grey jersey tee dress – no.4 chunky ankle boots – no.5 leather bracelet – no.6 layered necklace – no.7 reversible vegan leather tote
Hey, do you guys remember when March was when spring began? I know spring officially starts in March but I’m talking, spring temps and the whole blossoming of nature part of spring. March as slowly become the most temperamental month and quite honestly, the biggest tease of the entire year. Not complaining, just simply stating that March is just not what it used to be—she’s changed. Spring is coming, I mean officially it’s here. But those temps, which are currently flip-flopping (and playing with our hearts) and that wonderful green is just around the corner. I’m looking forward to shedding the heavy coats, bare legs and finding a new way (after I lose my toques) to hide my bad hair days.
UNIFORM / SOMEDAY THIS WEEK
1.cotton parka – 2.wide brim hat – 3.denim jacket – 4.ring set – 5.rose gold watch – 6.facted gold studs – 7.winking tee – 8.slim boyfriend jeans – 9.burgundy espadrilles – 10.black faux leather backpack
I couldn’t be more excited for a fresh new week. A fresh new and hopefully super healthy, week? Last week was probably the worst sick week I have ever experienced, nothing serious but colds (compounded on colds) that knocked out half my little family and still have one of the littles out of commission. After 6 full days of being super sick and locked to my bed, I feel like being healthy is my new super power – which is the best part about getting better after being sick, everything is just so over the top amazing.
So as I super power my way through all the piled up work (oh my poor neglected inbox) while still taking care of (hopefully) one last sick kiddo. A uniform that I planned to post last week, to be worn someday (any day!) this week since the suns (finally) out and the snows melting!! Happy Monday!
UNIFORM / EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING
Hat: American Apparel – Shirt: it’s the husbands (similar) – Jeans: H&M (similar in style, NOT in price) – Sneakers: c/o Get The Label
Sneakers forever, am I right? These NB sneakers make my normally small feet look miniature sized, I don’t know what it is about them but my feet almost look the same size as my 6 year olds, when I wear them. So if you are looking for feet shrinking sneakers, these are them!
Also, this is sorta funny. As I scrolled back a little, trying to find the link for that sneaker post (what sneaker post? this one) I saw the uniform post I put together a few weeks ago – I realized I’m basically wearing that same outfit but in real life form, totally accidental. But it goes to show, I would actually wear everything I put together on this blog in real life – literally!
And to answer your question, yes I totally chopped all my hair off last week (I’m psychic). I mostly have sad, grieving feelings about it, right now. It’s a few inches shorter than I first wanted so I’m still living in the shock “WHAT DID I DO!” stage with it. BUT since I’m an optimist, I’m gonna Tim Gunn the S*** outta it and just “make it work!”. And if anything, it’s still hat season for at least another 2 months – glass half full.
