Pretty sure this is like 10th time Harlow has worn this sweet dress, and the only time I was able to actually capture a photo. It’s funny how that works, as soon as you have a plan it’s like the kids can hear you thinking it and then they decide to do something totally different. It’s almost like they are teaching me a lesson (Arrested Development style) “And that’s why you don’t make a plan”. But really it’s cool, I understand. Which is why we like to just (try) to go with the flow and as for pictures, we are picture obsessed (even before and without the blog) so there is usually someone snapping pics. Therefore am bound to get some shots eventually, even 10 tries (probably a little exaggerated for effect) later .
We sorta half planned to hit up the Jazz festival in The Beaches, but once we got down to the water we sorta just sat back and didn’t move. It was a little windy so the waves were loud and a little on he big side (for a lake) – which adds that exxxxtra relaxing touch, listening to the waves roll in and out. We were sleepy and dragging our feet to begin the day, once we sat our butts down it was over and there was no moving. The only thing missing on our laid back lazy Sunday were our Pajamas, though they just wouldn’t have really fit in with the speedos walking around anyways. Happy Monday everyone, hope it’s a bit more laid back (insert sound lyrics here…and if you know what I’m talking about you win a high five!) then usual!
TO READ IN BED: image via Middle Child Complex
Typically I only catch a few pages of my current read before I hit the pillow for the night, and maybe a few chapters while sitting out on my deck during warm summer evenings (all two months of them). I’m hoping to change that this year. There are few things greater than curling up in a comfy, cozy bed surrounded by fluffy pillows and warm blankets and diving into a great book – I need – and WANT – to make more time for this! Ideally, I’d like to read a book a month but I’ll settle for the half dozen or so titles stashed in my bedside table. I might have to set aside one day a week to make a delicious cup of tea (Chocolate Rocket from David’s Tea or a creamy cuppa chai), put on my comfiest clothes, climb into bed super early and get lost in great book.
Rebecca is the tell it like it is wordsmith over at Manic Mama. Honest story telling, mixed with a touch of sarcasm, sprinkled with cute photos of her boys is the name of her game, check her out.
