June 2010

My sister in law just left Toronto after a 2 month visit and internship. Kingston has trouble saying ‘Jessica’, so he called her ‘kaka’, which morphed into ‘gaga’, and now that’s her name.

It was great having her here, the kids loved hanging with her and she was a great help, it was a super great visit. She’s a funny, sweet, kind, entertaining, smart, ‘teenager’ ;), who smells wonderful! We hope to see her soon, as we hope to make a trip sometime soon to see the rest of the family, either that or she will have to come back here for a visit.

PS. Isn’t she pretty? (I meant to save that one for last) 😉

I think it’s good for the adults too, cute and sorta funny. 🙂 Mostly reminds me of the songs my hubby makes up and sings to the kids.

Now that the G8/G20 Summit is finally over in Toronto, we can go back to being out and about (this weekend we stayed safe and stayed in our hood). Way too much chaos and destruction took place, we are so glad it’s all over and we can have our city back. Enough about that, I’m sure everyone like me, is so tired of hearing about the whole situation.

On a much better note, I have been trying to take pictures of my daughter wearing the Modern Two-Tone Purple Flower Headband, for a while now. But she hasn’t been in the mood for photography (or much of anything other then being in mom’s arms). We attempted to get some shots of her wearing it this weekend. It wasn’t very successful. My favourite is the one where she is crying, I think it’s cute, but not so good for posting in my store.

We have been listening to these lullabies for over 2 years now, and still have not gotten sick of them. My son listened to them while he was in the womb, and they still play all night long while he sleeps, or while he naps. He loves them, once he hears them he knows its sleep time, and if he wakes in the middle of the night he knows to go back to sleep cause the music is still playing.

I personally find lullabies and alot of kids music very annoying, but both my husband are in LOVE with these.  ROCKABYE BABY! uses both classic and popular rock music, and alters it into lullabies. It’s pretty fantastic, all the classic music we love is made into non annoying music that my son loves and finds soothing. They are constantly updating their stock and adding new artists/cds, in turn we are constantly adding the new cds to our playlist, which is a nice refresher. The only thing I can find a fault with in my son loving the lullabies so much, is that I think I lost my ipod forever, since basically all it plays everyday is rockabye lullabies.

The same people also came out with a line of country music albums Renditioned into lullbies called Hushabye Baby, if your a country music addict.

Now I just need to get my daughter hooked as well, get another ipod and ipod dock, and off she will go to sleep! (or so we hope!).

The Best Toys are Always Free

Ok, it’s not really a latte or a coffee, or anything actually from starbucks for that matter. Whenever I get a latte I get my son an empty cup and fill it with water. He LOVES to drink out of the cup, mostly he loves doing the same thing mommy and daddy do. The looks we get from people passing by are priceless, I wish I got some shots of peoples faces!

‘Urban Babies Drink Latte’ is from a line in one of Kingston’s baby books. The book is called Urban Babies Wear Black it’s a cute little series of books, perfect for gift giving as there is a book for every different type of baby.

This is Kingston’s favourite dancing song, and it’s also on our most played playlist.

You will love this song if you like:

Pete and the Pirates or Band of Horses, with a bit more of a pop/dance edge.

Is it bad that I thought the video was sorta funny? It’s his facial expression, and him being unsure as to what to do after everyone ran out. Earthquakes are not funny.

Never did I think I would experience an earthquake while living in Toronto. But it happened, it was a crazy weird experience. Good thing the kids were sleeping, things were shaking and swaying, felt like the building was being rocked and rolled.

They really haven’t said too much about it yet, other then it was a 5.0 magnitude quake in Ontario, unofficially. This is the latest news
