June 2011

Anthem of the ants is by far one of my fav brands for little girls, I cannot wait for my itty bitty Harlow to fit into some of these modern, super sweet goodies. The anthem of the ants S/S 11 collection is classically pretty; classic cuts and fabrics with the perfect adorable little details. I’m pretty excited to see what they have in store for Fall/Winter!

I wanted to write a little post, telling you all about anthem of the ants, but their own ‘anthem’ says it way to perfectly for me to even try and re-word what this sweet little brand is all about:

“We think buttons are cute and bows are for dresses – not arrows.
We love vintage style on brand new people.
We create clothes for the girls who run lemonade stands,
who record radio shows for make-believe stations,
and who write their own stories even if they can’t write just yet.

Some girls will become majorettes
and some will hear a different drummer.
Anthem of the Ants is for both.

Dance to your own beat. Sing your own song.
March to your own anthem.”

You can buy anthem of the ants here.

I forget to upload one of our memory cards, so these pictures are from the week before last. Opps!

It was a super hot week and me and the kids spent the majority of our days outside {last week was rainy, so our long trips outdoors were a bit spotty}. We went to the park one day and there was a bit of a leak in the wading pool tap {the wading pools and splash pads don’t open up here till the end of the month} so there was a small pool for kids to cool off in..and this is what Harlow wore:

Hat: The Gap…Romper: Sweet Shop vintage…Sandals: The Gap

I am pretty much obsessed with baby toes in sandals, and I love little rompers, like I can’t stop buying her rompers even though she has a full closet!

While Harlow was checking things out and crusing around, King was playing in the wading pool, we came un prepared {as they aren’t supposed to be open till the end of the month}. So I let him wade {just his feet} in the water. As you can see, he listened really well. 😉

1. Crochet Inset : A lovely little crochet detail adds some boho coolness  (literally, them crochet holes would let some nice cool air in) {The Gap Floral Crochet Dress}

2. Lacy Petticoat : What an adorable way to sneak in some lace, and volume! {IKKS Floral Lace Petticoat}

3. Crochet Overlay : For the crochet or lace timid, your little girl cannot go wrong with just a little. {Zara Floral Crochet Overlay Dress with Belt}

4. Lacy Top: Oh so pretty!! This would also be uber cute bought a bit large (taken in) and worn as a dress! {Zara Smocked Top with Lacy Frills}

Today’s little trend report is such a great accent to her summer wardrobe, crochet and lace. Perfect trend for the vintage loving Mama’s or even for the little girly girl. It’s pretty, cool and sorta dainty.

I found our video camera {actually an old point and shoot we use strictly for videos}, and found a couple gems and was able to get a couple new ones. I thought I’d share, these two kiddos of ours make us smile like crazy all day long, might as well pass on the smiles to you!

The song: sweet disposition by the temper trap…it’s one of King’s most fav songs to bust a move too.

Ok not a maxi skirt, but this long dress is mighty cute and it fits the bill. She can wear a tee over top to give the look of a skirt, or under on a chilly summer day!

Happy Friday Friends!
