The past couple weeks for us {well our whole city} and the rest of you poor saps who have been suffering thru a disgusting heat wave. I hate to complaining about heat, cause lets face it I live in Canada, so have some equally gross cold winters. But man, there was one day last week, 49°C {120°F}, it literally felt like we were walking around in the centre of a fire. No jokes.
The Sunday before the day of the fire heat, we met some lovely friends for breakfast, then we went out for lunch, came home for naps then went out for dinner. Our air conditioner wasn’t doing a very good job at fighting the extreme heat so we pretty much spent as little time home as possible and there was no way an oven or a burner was going to be turned on! So thru all the sweat and the outfit changes {cause we were all so hot} this is what we wore…
MOM~ Tank: Zara…Belt: Winners…Skirt: H&M…Sandals: Zara
DAD~ Glasses: Warby Parker…Tee: American Apparel…Shorts: H&M…Sandals: Havanias
KINGSTON~ Hat: H&M…Tee: American Apparel…Suspenders: H&M…Shorts: H&M…Shoes: Native
HARLOW~ Headscarf: made my me…Dress: Handme down from Pippi…Sandals: Zara Baby
Harlow’s little head scarf was mainly to help catch some sweat, but it doubled as an adorable accessory. And King, well even when we try to leave the house without a hat or ask him to take it off cause he’s sweating like crazy…he refuses. This boy loves to wear hats. And lately he’s obsessed with suspenders, tells me every day “mommy I need supendies”, for me it’s win win, cause I dig them too!
My go to hairstyle lately is the side braid {easy, away from kids hands and still looks cute}, but since my hair is super slippery and pretty thin the only way to get it to stay in a side braid is to do a back side french braid:). But on this very hot and sweaty day, even the braid hanging down was too hot, so I quickly turned the braid into a bun.
So far this week {though it’s only Tuesday} the weather is so much better! Well it’s still way too hot for anyones good, but it’s normal Toronto, super humid hot. And bearable.
