Scenes from Yesterday

Yesterday was our last official day of summer vacation. I had planned to do all these special things to celebrate/send summer off, but of course since I had these big plans the kids sorta had other ones. So we went with the flow instead and just took it easy, trying to relax before King’s first day back at school.

I’m on to him

AND one from this morning.

Harlow and I on the other hand were all welled up with tears, and then we got treats to cure our sad missing our boys hearts. Bittersweet moments, they grow up too fast just look at last year.

Yesterday I 100% followed King’s lead on where we headed, we ended up walking almost 9km and for almost 6 hours in total – our feet were tired but our faces had big smiles on them. Now that’s a well loved water bottle, and a thirsty tired boy.

My poorly timed dentist appointment, turned into a surprise day off for Chris (surprise for us, not work). It was a nice mid week break, almost felt like the weekend – which made this morning feel a little like a Monday, worth it!

^Stop at the candy store, for 1 item each (her scoop was not that big, though she tried)

^So excited to have candy, who needs to eat it.

I snapped some memories from my girls third birthday yesterday. We try to make birthday’s special from morning till night, also we haven’t jumped on the birthday party ship yet – mostly since we don’t have a lot of family around to invite. Basically we shoot to make each moment a birthday event, even if it means just giving it a special name for the day (birthday tantrums, are special right?).
