I know, you don’t think Anne Hathaway and think of style (or maybe that’s just me) – but this outfit is pretty darn cute, especially a mini form.

Happy Friday! HOW is it the end of September already?! Really these weeks are just going by like lightening!

family style, young urban family, city family life, family walks Life is starting to get back to a normal pace around here, Chris’ hours have settled back down to a normal-ish zone and I think (possibly jinxing this one) we are all (mostly King-a-Ling) adjusted to having King go to school half days. Slowly we are developing a new routine and learning to appreciate evenings and weekends, when we are all together SO much more. Simply being together, all together – no matter what we are doing is exciting enough, that anything we decide to actually do as a family is just icing.

PS. I think the very top photo, might just be my new favorite of me and my babies. Thanks husband for that one!

One of our very favorite things to do is to just walk, well explore – sometimes it’s way more fun then going to the park (who’d a thunk?), I swear. Even though we live in the city and city views are pretty normal for the kids – they still oooooh and awwww at all the tall buildings, get crazy excited over statues and water features, rush hour surfing, taking the subway, running up and down ramps and swinging on railings, they basically turn the city into their own personal park. Pre King and Harley (which sometimes feels like a whole other lifetime ago), Chris and I would walk and walk all night and day when we had no plans – it’s pretty amazing to do the same thing post King and Harley but see everything through their sweet little eyes.

My lovely sponsor Sunuva, makes stylish UV swimwear for kids and a great selection of beachwear accessories and clothes. When you think of UV swim wear you think of full body coverage rash guards (or at least I do), Sunuva is one of the very few companies that has combined style with sun protection, and they do it for sizes 6-12 month up to 12 years old.

Sunuva wants to give ONE super lucky Baby Blackbird reader $400 CAD of Sunuva UV swimwear and beachwear!! Yes, $400!! And that’s £250 GBP !

The little girl swim suits have a sweet little bum pocket, for no reason other then it’s crazy adorable. And the boys swim is great because it’s not board short long, it’s above the knee and the perfect length.  Summer may be over but kiddo swim wear is always needed, especially for those swimming lessons or maybe even a tropical winter vacation – Sunuva wants to help you stock up on swim for the holidays and maybe even next summer or two summers after.

TO ENTER: First head to Sunuva, check out their adorable swim and beach collection – then run over to this site and enter for your chance to stock up majorly on kids swim! A little different then most blog giveaways but still, easy peasy?!

If you like come back here and leave a comment, and let me know what your favorite item is (this is not part of entering).

closes October. 7th. Open to international residents. Sunuva will draw one random winner, that winner will be sent a unique code to shop directly on their site.

All of a sudden our temperatures have gotten really Fall like, I should know better (being Canadian and all) and should have been more prepared for chilly weather to hit – but no, totally unprepared and I was left scrabbling looking for our socks and coats since it’s been sooo long since we wore them! Are you feeling Fall yet?

kids style, little kid photographers, little photogs, kid photographers, candid photos King is obsessed with taking pictures, usually he loads up our ancient POS with butt pictures and blurry photos of his toys – but lately he is all about taking pictures just like Mommy and Daddy on “the big camera”. Sometimes he’s not so keen on me taking photos of him, and instead he always asks if he can take photos of us instead – I think it’s a pretty fair and sweet trade off.  Maybe on those occasions where he’s not really wanting to be the star of my camera I’ll share the sweet little photog moments he captures of us. Here are a bunch from last week (he packed the camera and tripod himself, and directed us on how to pose), they are funny blurry and oh so awesome!

The last photo, Harlow actually took of King – as the official ‘monkey see monkey do’ rules state, I now have two little budding photogs on my hands.

I think Harlow is finally adjusting the fact that her brother is in school for a few hours each day, it was a rocky sad couple weeks of her missing him every single second he was gone. She still misses him like mad, but I think she is really starting to appreciate her time with just me and her, our lady dates. Also she is really liking the freedom to play with whatever toys she pleases, today she was extra excited to come home after dropping her brother off at school –  with a giant sneaky grin she ran straight to play with all his new toys.

So, FabKids – they are the new kid on the online kids shopping block. They graciously sent Harlow an outfit (she wore the pants in last weeks outfit post), one that was suggested specially for Harlow after I filled out a cute little personalty/style profile about my girl.  They are sort of similar to the whole ShoeMint/StyleMint/etcMint concept but exclusively for little girls (maybe one day little boys too?), and with Christina Applegate as their creative celebrity partner – after answering a few questions about your little one the FabKids team suggests outfits just for her and then send email updates with new suggestions – great for busy moms since their prices are just as affordable as you would find in stores but with the added ease of convenience.

Because it has to be said: We were sent an outfit, but were not compensated for this post. I was asked to share my personal opinion and did so on my own accord.
