In case you were wondering what to wear on your feet this spring and summer, here is my big list of foot fashion trends that aren’t that trendy. It goes nicely with the big spring summer clothing trends that aren’t that trendy, tons of great outfits if you combine your favorites in both posts.
I’m only a little behind in posting, shhhh don’t tell anyone. Life has just been, busy. But a really good busy, that I welcome. Which mean’s I’ve had to take stock and slow things down a little more than I’d like around here, also these posts are not easily thrown together. Quality over quantity, am I right?
Speaking of which (not really, but anyways), you need new shoes and/or sandals and have I got the list for you to pick from! [ olive gladiator sandals via UO ]
HUARACHE – one of those shoe styles that will leave about 60% of you saying “I used to wear those!” at some point in your life/childhood. It’s the perfect sandal shoe crossover, a sandoe if you will.
[ one – red classic huarache / two – silver huarache / three – white sandal huarache]
POINTED TOE – let’s just get straight to the point with this one (couldn’t help myself), pointed toes have this way of automatically making things look a little more dressed up. So for those times when you need something to take your outfit up to a slightly more dressy level, I’m pointing right at the solution — get my point?
[ one – v point strappies / two – strappy heels / three – pointed flats ]
SILVER AND GOLD – need a new neutral this spring or summer? Try some silver of gold shoes, in a style that you always tend to gravitate towards, it won’t feel super trendy or scary if you already religiously wear a similar style. And it’s fun to pretend you have golden slippers and wear the silver spoon, all the puns intended.
[ one – silver espadrilles / two – rose gold vans / three – mirror oxfords / four – gold gladiators ]
SLIDES – they were trendy last year, which probably makes them less of a trend and more of a popular style, but who’s counting (other than me)? Those sporty Adidas slides are part of this, slide trend if you dig I just went for the everyday versions.
[ one – thin strap slides / two – wood floor slides / three – huarache slide ]
ESPADRILLE – these guys never really seem to go out of style, the styles just shift a little. This year they are a little more casual than normal (akak more awesome), an easy way to wear a pair of these? Just switch out your sneakers or regular sandals for a pair of espadrilles — instant summer.
[ one – patterned rope sandals / two – tie up flats / three – slip on toe cap ]
MULES – cross between a sandal and a shoe that you don’t need to buckle or tie up (well mostly), and most of the time you only have to touch up the toes that are sticking out!
[ one – kitten heel mule / two – white heels / three – ankle strap bootie mules ]
RAINBOW SANDALS – a little tribal and a whole lot colorful, a super quick and easy way to make a basic outfit not very basic at all. Even though I don’t wear a ton of colour I’m totally digging these.
[ one – pom pom and tassles / two – ankle tie pom poms / three – rainbow sequin cork floor ]
SNEAKERS – when are sneakers ever not awesome? This sneaker trend is going strong still and for good reason, and there are just so many more great options — these easy classics are a good start.
[ one – classic adidas / two – classic chucks / three – Sk-8 Hi vans / four – slip on sneaks ]
BLOCK HEELS – yay for those of use that don’t wear stilettos, am I right? The block heel is a much more comfy wearable heel, if you are gonna wear a pair of heels that is.
[ one – strappy velvet / two – simple grey pumps / three – ankle wrap ]
WESTERN – Just a touch of the wild west, or hey go full on with the cowboy boots — I’m not your boss.
[ one – western booties / two – western stitched clogs / three – western tassel sandals ]
GLADIATORS – they always seem to take a break for a couple of years and then they come back, so this time don’t get rid of them just pack them away and you’ll be way ahead. But for now, hey gladiators are back guys!
[ one – tall zipped back / two – studded gladiators / three – classic gladiators ]
SLIPPERS – not the slippers you wear at home though, these are (very) slightly more acceptable versions of those. Any sort of slip on shoe or slipper cut is your friend this spring and summer.
[ one – espadrille slippers / two – raffia slippers / three – slipper loafers ]
WHITE SANDALS – I know white for now and probably creamy dirty colored for later, but that’s pretty cool too!
[ one – wide strap / two – birkenstocks / three – criss cross slides ]
Do you have a fav? Have you gone spring or summer shopping yet? Remember it’s cool if you don’t like one (or two or any of these, your cool factor will never go down if you don’t partake in trends).
