Let’s just be honest here, as I tend to be anyways but it’s a nice preface. Mother’s Day is really just another day sure it’s nice to have a day dedicated to us but it is just another day. More often than not on life’s regular days and yes even on the little bit more special days life gets in the way and we fail a little on the pre-planning. We do it on Father’s Day sometimes too, so it’s ok Dad’s.
I polled several Mom’s (very scientific like) asking them what their favorite Mom’s Day gift is/would be, and they all pretty much responded with similar sentiments. So instead of letting that loved one run out scrambling to buy something (anything!), why not hint (nudge, or just punch) them to have a look at this ultimate mother’s day gift guide. It’s not your average gift guide, since it’s filled with all the simple things that may not seem like a ‘gift’.
Basically the ultimate gift guide consists of a day where mom doesn’t have to do mom duties, just give her a break. Which you can do that by concentrating on for simple things (more if you want to get fancy and super sweet):
SLEEP – let her sleep in or maybe nap, or maybe just lay in bed with a coffee before having to actually get up?
CLEAN – just don’t let her do it, have everyone pitch in and offer a hand to make sure things are almost as clean as they are when she takes care.
COOK – no cooking for mom on mother’s day, I think that should be a rule or something.
PAMPER – this one can be as simple as running her a bath, sending her to GoodLife or yoga (if that’s her thing), or maybe get all crazy and send her to get a massage or a pedi (all dependent on what she prefers).
ALSO, handmade anything from the kids – but that is 100% a give in and a fave in any moms books.
What do you think? What is your favorite mom’s day “gift”?
