When I used to wear my hair in a top knot everyday, randoms strangers always asked if I was a ballerina. I do not look like a ballerina and you if you saw me dance, professional dancer would be the last thing on your mind. But it’s the top knot, or bun that gave random strangers that impression, I guess. When I wear my backpack (which is very often) I usually get asked if I’m a student, the majority of people might also need glasses (like me) but mostly it’s because people see, backpack and think student. Like the top knot/bun = ballerina.
The other weekend, (not backpack related) Chris and I had a date weekend. Which was SO amazing, we so rarely get date nights that when we actually do, we never know what to do when we get them. We plan and then the moment comes that we are actually without kids and we are always like;
“what do you want to do?”
“Idk, what do YOU want to do?”
It’s lame and most definitely a super annoying couple conversation to anyone that is listening. So last weekend we finally had an actual date night plan; go to a movie, then out for dinner and drinks. Not the most romantic or original, but hey it works. So Saturday night we popped into a movie, thinking early is best so we have more time afterwards to have dinner and drinks. Made perfect sense to us and it seemed to make tons of sense to a few other people too. But only people over the age of 65. So Chris and I had a wonderful quiet movie night, alongside other senior citizens — we felt right at home. As a parent my recipe for a really good date night is; good food, some drinks and lot’s of cozy uninterrupted sleep. So the early pre-5pm movie date on a Saturday night is probably my new favorite thing, because the rest of my date night recipe then goes off without a hitch — mostly the sleep part. Also the part where you walk out of the theater when the movie ends, to see the crazy Saturday night crowd scrambling to get into their seats while you leisurely walk to dinner and drinks — thumbs up. So for future date night reference, Saturday seniors movie hour is pretty much the best thing ever.
My uniform posts have somehow turned into some of my most loved posts, where I share my most “prolific” rambles.
