Let’s preface this one real quick, I’m not trying to guilt you or tell you that “this is THE year” or even remotely anything like that — that wouldn’t be cool. When I talk “workout clothes” you can imagine I’m putting air quotes around the word: workout — because really you can (of course) wear them to work out, or to just hang out, go to a class, maybe meet a friend for coffee or whatever your big heart desires. No matter what your intended use actually is (no guilt), those “workout” clothes should be stylish and comfortable so you don’t feel frumpy wearing them as your “workout” or non workout clothes. Also, maybe the most important because they are workout clothes they need to be functional, then it just gives you tons of options for the intended use.
Really I cannot tell you how many times I was so excited at a new brand of yoga leggings (usually because the price was sooo good) only to find out they stink at moving with me, maybe didn’t really stretch enough (circulation cut off) or they stink in the actual literal sense after just a few workouts. So this is just me rounding up a few of my favorite items from a few of my favorite workout/yoga brands but of course there was too much goodness to make the list short I had to do an extra long post. If your reason for wanting all of these items is yoga, hitting up your local Goodlife gym, starting/continuing on a new years resolution (no pressure) or just adding some pretty great comfy (and maybe functional for a future date) clothes to your closet – you’re welcome! I swear by lulu everything, the fit and the ability to wick sweat away is unmatched. But I like to try new brands often, usually I test out a new brand in a tank or a sports bra — pants need to be no fail (I’m a stickler for pants and need to have all my criteria met), but tops are much easier to play around with. All that being said, I am obsessed with Outdoor Voices style and brand, just need to pull the trigger and try out some of their goods.
Okay, I know I said I wasn’t going to pressure you or guilt you into working out and I swear I’m still not. But if adding an activity to improve your health, well-being or body has been on your list of to-do’s then maybe some new stylish, functional and comfortable workout clothes could be a good addition. Not that new clothes is ever the answer to fix life’s problems, but it can be a really great (warm and cozy feeling, tiny bit of confidence) start. Sometimes just putting on workout gear that you love and feel good in, is the perfect teeny tiny bit of motivation you need to make that dreaded first step.
What is your favorite “workout” brand? What is your favorite way to workout? Or maybe just favorite wear to wear gear such at this?
